Building a Better FDA

Hi CCI gang,

We need your help! We are working on a couple of big things with the FDA. This is related to creating an online application instead of messing with the Suites. We want to keep the same items but provide a better description and examples. (We could make small changes to the items themselves but not much because if it changes too much then the new data won't line up with the old.)

In the online app you will see a description of the item plus an example for each rating point, i.e. a 1 might look like this, a 3 might look like this, etc. (I will attach a working draft in the first reply box.) We will also be clear about which items might fit with a developmental stage ("reminds us of a 5 yr old") vs which items are only being rated on degree of challenges – these will each likely be signaled with an icon in the online version. This is a way to integrate the FDA items with the FDA Question Prompts sheet from the Manual. We think that providing these examples will likely help teams to focus and move through the FDA faster as well.

Please help us build a better FDA. Please be specific in your feedback and offer a better solution if you have one:

Which items need clarification? Which could be worded better? Have you found a way to explain a particular item that has been useful? If you could change one thing about the FDA what would it be?

The working draft in the reply section will show you the general thrust of what we're hoping to do, so please comment on that as well.

Finally, make sure to add your name to your feedback so we know who to thank! Your feedback will be viewable by other coaches so we can have a good discussion.
