Brenda Dragt, MSW
Brenda is an experienced clinical counsellor with over 20 years in trauma-focused roles within BC’s government system. She has developed suicide prevention programs, provided sexual abuse therapy, and led community education initiatives.
Since joining the CCI team in 2012, Brenda has delivered province-wide training, supervision, and mentoring on complex case interventions. She also equips leaders of youth programs, crisis lines, and schools with practical strategies for communication, self-harm, suicide, and grief support.
Brenda’s deep understanding of trauma’s impact on child development fuels her mission to empower care teams to create lasting positive change in the lives of children and families.

Dr. Kirk Austin, PhD, RCC
Dr. Kirk Austin is an experienced public speaker and Registered Clinical Counsellor who trains therapists across British Columbia on the effective use of the Complex Care Intervention (CCI) model.

Renae Regehr, RCC
Renae is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Master’s in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia. She specializes in supporting children, youth, and families impacted by trauma and attachment challenges.
As both a clinician and adoptive parent, Renae is passionate about equipping caregivers with tools to help children heal, grow, and thrive. She co-founded Care For Women and founded Free To Be Talks, two non-profits dedicated to maternal support and promoting positive body image.
Renae’s personal and professional journey with complex trauma fuels her commitment to making trauma-informed care accessible, empowering families to create safe and nurturing environments.
